i was feeling ridiculous (i was kind of drunk) and sort of re-imagined this old military jacket into a make-shift double breasted shacket. it’s not perfect, but its pretty interesting. it’s certainly became a more tailored piece and a nice creative alternative to a blazer.

keys mostly. it’s not that i have a janitorial sized keyring, its that i really hate having keys in my pocket. so i normally bring a bag or something to carry those in. of course, every day normally requires a slightly different assortment of items.

i’m often carrying clothing to be dropped off at the tailor, ipad, head phones, tshirt to wear as an undershirt while bartending, socks, occasionally my camera and your heart.

What loafers would you recommend? And what were those suede loafers you had on in your last Instagram pic?

really depends on your budget. i’ve found a few great pairs of allen edmond loafers on ebay for around $60 - but then i also own a pair of alden snuff suede loafers with a much higher price tag. and a few pairs in between the two. do a bit of research and you’ll find something you really like.

That blue jacket is phenomenal. I saw the post was tagged with Tommy Hilfiger but it didn't seem right. Who makes it?

it’s tommy hilfiger. i was as shocked as you are, but it’s an awesome find. great fit, i landed it for a reasonable price and it has all the right details.

to be honest - anywhere. after i started looking for something that worked as a strap i got a little creative. primarily i use a bandana strap - but occasionally i use straps. they’re great. check out cheapestnatostraps.com - or jcrew.com, good generic straps.

I'm looking for an unstructured blazer for a shorter dude. Any suggestions? Thanks.

at 5’8 i have almost all of my blazers shortened - i think it helps with the proportions and avoids calling unnecessary attention to your mid thigh. it normally not too much of an issue but as i get more and more particular regarding the details of blazers i’m finding its becoming a real hunt for an off the rack perfect fit.

that being said, i’ve had luck with:

bonobos - i bought the alma mater blazer a few years ago and to this day, the fit is awesome. they may have changed their fit over the years but the 36R worked great for me.

club monaco’s XS - while i think the sleeve measurements occasionally need a bit more scaling when sizing down to XS the length on club monaco’s XS blazer fit is pretty great. i have some true standout & standby piece rom club monaco and they’re always strong with the basics.

j.crew’s XS fit - recently picked up a linen piece from j.crew and the length is pretty spot on. i could go a touch shorter for casual wear (t shirts, polos, summer nonsense) but thats only because i’m growing picky.
