Q
I have a job interview at JCrew next week. Any ideas on what to wear? Any advice in general would help.

First, congrats on the interview. They’re a good company and from what i can gather (similar to any industry) if the existing crew at the store is a good group of people - you’ll probably enjoy the job. they’re a company with a focus on fit and a certain style - some of which i’ve incorporated into my personal garb.

from what i can gather, the male staff at j.crew is either head-to-toe mannequin status, or ill-fitted-got-this-job-from-a-connection-bro. find your balance, you’ve obviously inquired which leads me to assume you have a decent grasp on the basics and i can deduce from the punctuation in your question that you’re not a idiot.

regarding WTW: i’d wear a nice fitted pair of denim, good shoes and your best fitted shirt. avoid wearing exclusively j.crew but don’t omit any of the above if they happen to be made by the company.  navy blazer (fitted, fitted, fitted) with something fun in your pocket - use your creativity. don’t get carried away with details (often my problem) but show your personality.

don’t bring a bag, wear a watch and dishevel your hair a bit before entering but don’t use a mirror.

kill it man, i’ll see you near the sale isle.
